Saving Your Business with the Gorilla System

by Bill Good Marketing on August 24, 2011

Bill Good The following article is based upon notes I made in a conversation with a Bill Good Marketing® client on August 24, 2011.

While the thrust of our marketing system is most certainly to help advisors double production or work half as much, a very important focus is: protect your business.

From nearly its inception, the Bill Good Marketing System® has been based upon what I have termed “The Law.” This is the foundation for our “compliance” system.

The law states, “Every contact and contact attempt the client or prospect produces an updated note in the computer.”

Procedures are in place, not only to perform the updates, but to capture and store handwritten notes. When you read the story that follows, you will understand the importance of not relying exclusively on electronic updates.

A Bill Good Marketing client was hauled into an arbitration. The client was attempting to recover losses in the amount of $350,000.

My client had not only done meticulous electronic updates, but had followed “Dr. Good’s medical advice” and kept all of the hard copies.

At one point in the hearing, the opposing attorney alleged she had created the electronic records simply for the purpose of the arbitration, whereupon she produced stacks of hand written Record Update Forms and other notes.

The $350,000 claim was shortly thereafter dismissed without prejudice.
