Laptop Stolen? All May Not be Lost

by Bill Good Marketing on July 14, 2011

One of the worst things that can happen to a financial advisor is to have your laptop, smart phone or ipad or other tablet stolen. Hopefully any client information is encrypted with 256 bit encryption. If not, you must contact each client to warn them. But even if your client data is protected, and even if you are covered by insurance and an online backup, you are still facing lost time to reconfigure the whole shebang.

With that in mind, you may want to read this article in the New York Times Technology Section, “Track Your Stolen Hardware with These Apps.”

I’ve long subscribed to Find My iPHone to keep track of my iPhone and iPad. Now I have technology that could enable me to recover my laptop should it ever fall prey to the bad guys.
